Thompson Turner recently completed the renovation of the 1950 Lake City Library now named the Dr. Ronald E. McNair Life History Center. Today, the building serves as a community room for a variety of educational and civic activities. Future phases include a 7,000 square foot museum, a science education center and a public park featuring space related exhibits.
This small building played an important role in the early education of Dr.Rondald E. McNair. McNair was a Lake City native and NASA astronaut who was killed in the Challenger Space Shuttle tragedy in 1986. Current exhibits commemorate Dr. McNair’s many achievements. Thompson Turner was privileged to take on this renovation and ensure the building is an inspiration for years to come.
